The Story Behind the Blog

My path to becoming a Licensed Master of Social Work, with a Master’s degree in Social Work and a Bachelor’s in Social Work from the University of North Dakota, wasn’t a straightforward one. In fact, it was marked by a deeply personal and harrowing experience that has shaped my life and career. You see, for 15 years, I was trapped in a marriage with a malignant narcissist.

Now, you might be wondering how a licensed social worker could end up in such a situation. Well, that’s where the power of narcissistic manipulation and abuse comes into play. These individuals have an uncanny ability to conceal their true selves and slowly erode their partner’s self-esteem, self-worth, and autonomy.
